Books, Books, and Oh! Books

A lot of people have been wondering not just recently, but, way before on what I spend my money most on. I admit I stopped dead on my tracks as I thought about that question. Sure, the question was quite simple and so easy to answer, but, in my case it wasn't. I really did think things through before I answered. I even made a double take of every possible answer I came up with. You might be surprised to find out that I didn't much think about it, let me rephrase that, I didn't take much of my time thinking of what I would or could possibly spend my money on.

So, you can basically say, the question caught me off guard and thank goodness for that! It made me think about it seriously. Many of you might commonly answer clothes, shoes, make ups, accessories and even beauty products. It's a given fact that these are some of the essentials needed to make ourselves presentable and well, to beautify ourselves too. But not me. I admit I sometimes buy these things, but, were talking about  mostly right? and my answer happens to differ. I'm pretty sure you're curious as well. Hey! I'm not letting you wait any longer for that answer to pop up and present itself.
You might as well brace yourselves for my revelation.

About three things I'm positively sure of:

The Heirs

"One who wants to wear the crown, bears the crown"

......

A story that depicts the lives, the rivalries, friendship and the love of group of elite high school students.
Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) is the second son of a very rich Korean conglomerate, who was sent abroad in order to study. When in reality, it is a form of exile so that his elder-brother back at Korea can take over the business. While he was in the States, Kim Tan met Cha Eun-Sang (Park Shin Hye) who just arrived from Korea to see her sister who claims that she is going to get married and therefore, needed the money. With misfortune befalling before her, Kim Tan suddenly finds himself helping her and eventually falling for her.

When Kim Tan's fiancee Rachel (Kim Ji Won) arrives to celebrate their one year of engagement and also to bring him back to Korea. He is now torn between doing his duty and doing what his heart wants him to do. Meanwhile, there's another problem waiting for Rachel as her mother decided to get married again to Kim Tan's former best friend, Choi Young-do (Kim Woo-bin) making him Rachel's future step-brother. All three of them attended the same school when Eun-Sang transferred to the school of the elite due to some family problems. It sank into her that her world and their worlds are not the same. In addition to it that Young-do falls for her as well. Just when they thought that their problems can be solved so easily as 1,2,3. The real problem arises when they realize how their world is controlled by money and power and the difference between the world they lived in.

......

Honestly speaking this drama has so much "drama" in it. They portrayed the characters fairly well in my book. Making my teeth grind whenever I encountered a scene that was aggravating for my taste (mostly when it comes to Tan's dad). How wickedly twisted I am for liking Young-Do (to those who know me, I think they already know why) and how happy I am that there's some girl power and not just your typical damsel in distress kind of scenario for Eun-sang.  (way to go girl!) Anywho, my rambling stops right here since I don't want to reveal too much information. (kekeke)

I'm almost finish watching this one I have at least 7 more episodes to go. By the way, this is a 20 episode series. So you better prepare some popcorn, drinks and tissues with you. If you want to know more of what I am rambling about watch this drama then share your sentiments with me ;)

My Little Bride

This was recommended by my best friend Mau (whom I should be thankful for: Thanks labs!) which was recommended by her boyfriend Marco a.k.a "baka neko" as I prefer to call him. (I know what you're thinking. We sort of have this kind of like and hate relationship as friends. -_-) Anyways, this happens to be an old movie. It goes way back 2002 and would you believe me if I told you that I have seen this like--- Oh I don't know, just two days ago? Yep, just recently this year (I humbly apologize). After 12 years, I was finally able to watch it. I've heard stories about this long long time ago, of how good and cute it was but I never bothered to watch it due to some reasons.

First, I am not much into Korean dramas and movies before. I was more focused on the perfect face-big eyed kawaii and bishounen anime characters at that time (I'm still now. I mean who wouldn't?)

Second, computers are not my kind of thing. I was more of a bookish kind of a person (Still am)

and lastly, they were practically speaking a different language. I can't barely understand them despite the subtitles and I had a hard time reading the translation below (now it's quiet the opposite. Oh yeah!)

But now, everything has changed. I've got the hang of it and it took me what? 12 years? (Ouch. That stings) But I'm glad. I was glad that I was able to watch and appreciate such a good movie. I was glad that I took the time (not minding my mom's wrath if I got home late which didn't happened thank goodness for that) to sit down and be goo goo eyed on the computer screen as I watched it.

It tells the story about an arranged marriage between a college man Sang-min (Kim Rae-won) and a 15 year old high schooler Bo-eun (Moon Geun-young) set my the latter's grandfather, a pact that was made by him and Sang-mins late grandfather. On his deathbed, Bo-eun's grandfather's last dying wish was the two of them to get married  (which is a scam to let them agree to get married). Despite their strong opposition, the two eventually give in and got married. Now, the fun starts as both of them struggle to the new marriage life. Sangmin fairly adjusting as a married man while Bo-eun's starting an undercover married life. She pretends that she doesn't have a husband and starts dating their school's popular baseball player Jung-woo. Everything was fine until Sang-min becomes a student teacher at her school.

......

As you have now noticed I always left things unfinished mainly because of two reasons:

1. I am not good at doing recaps.
2. It's much better if you watch it for yourself.

So, expect me to these kinds of things from now on (kekekeke) leaving you hanging and wondering what happens next. *winks winks

A little peek at one of the characters moments:

^A^ oh la la la

* Sighs remembering this made me all fuzzy. >///<

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

It's all about live, laugh, and love, my life is full of those at the moment and for these past few days, I've been quite busy fulfilling those needs. ( Need-ish I mean, ;) ) Since, I'm in the mood for more or less Korean dramas and movies as of the moment, I did not waste any opportunity and time to grab my portable DVD and to watch one of my favorite dramas of all time.

It's been four years since it was aired on television and no matter how many times I've seen it. It never fails to humor me and to make me feel tickled pink all over. I love this drama so much that I wanted to buy another DVD in case, mine might not work anymore. Thinking about when that time comes makes me feel sad all of a sudden  : (  *wipes tear. Yep, it's decided. I am going to buy ANOTHER one. ^_^  haha.

Enough, dilly dally and let's go straight to the point. The Korean drama that I've been talking about that always --always--- puts a goofy smile on my face is none other than "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho". You heard that right. Who would forget the chemistry between these two? the hilarious and honest Dae woong? The cute and innocent Mi Ho? Whoever created their characters deserves a round of applause. (Way to go Hong sisters!) Just so you know The Hong sisters are a screen writing team composed of two sisters, hence, the name. Together they write popular romantic comedies (my forte) for the small screen such as My Sassy Girl Choon-Hyang, My Girl, Couple Trouble, You're Beautiful, The Master's Sun and this post's title. They have other works too I just mentioned the ones that I've already seen sooo.... Teheh!  >_^

Among all their works, this one, like I've said, is one of my favorite.

Synopsis:

Chae Dae-Woong (Lee Seung-gi) a normal college student with an ambition of becoming an action star ran away from his grandfather. On his way of escaping, he met a monk who gave him a ride and let him stay at the temple. What turns out to be just a form of his escape from trouble leads to him to another when he accidentally releases a gumiho (Shin Min Ah) a legendary nine tailed fox that took form of beautiful woman,  who was trapped in the temple's painting for 500 years. Chae Dae-Woong realises what he has done ran away and fell on the river bank. Severely injured, the now released Gumiho came to save him by giving him her precious fox bead that can heal him.By doing so, Gunmiho has to stay close to Chae Dae-Woong cause without her bead her aura is weakened. The story then progress of how Chae Dae-Woong handles Gumiho, his ambition and his love for his noona. As for the innocent and pretty Gumiho, she will then know and experience to live like a human, laugh like human and perhaps love like a human?

......

I  am not going in full details about this. I just want to pique your curiosity and let you see the whole drama yourself ;)

......

I miss this Hoi Hoi couple. Aren't they the cutest??? >///<

Miracle in Cell No. 7

It was a talk about Korean movie in 2013 that brought laughter and tears to the viewers. The story depicts the life of one man and his daughter. How everything changes when one was falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit. How even though beyond the bars of the prison cell, love is still the strongest bond that can bring the daughter and the father together.

In this movie, I assure you that you will need lots and lots of tissue, I know I did. As I was watching this movie I couldn't help myself but laugh as the situation demands. It was hilarious how Lee Yong-gu, the father, got along with his inmates in the most harshest cell in prison, cell no. 7. And when you thought that everything is just for laughs, you thought completely wrong. Soon, you will find yourself sniffing and tears slowly falling from your eyes as the story progresses. You will see how a father would do anything for his daughter and how the bond between them affects and changed the people around them.

......

Synopsis:

Lee Yong- gu is an intellectually handicapped person with the mindset of a six year old. He lived together with his seven year old daughter Ye-sung who is smarter than her peers. The two of them lived a happy life until the commissioner's daughter was found dead and Yong-gu was the one who found her.Falsely accused the crime he didn't commit. Ye-sung was sent to childcare and Yong-gu was sent to the most harshest cell in the maximum security prison cell no.7.

......

Don't miss the chance to watch this. I tell you, Miracle in Cell No. 7 is worth it.

Just a Girl

Like I've said in my previous blog, I'm feeling way too poetic for my own good and I can't help it. I have no control over it (so not true--contradictory: Alert!) I have succumb to my calling (which is to make poems)  and decided to go with the flow. This new poem of mine was inspired by the pictures that my best friend once took and here it is.Don't judge! after all I'm just a girl you know ;)

Void

I'm feeling poetic right now. Is it because of the dark skies? or is it because of the gloomy atmosphere? Whatever the reason, one thing is positive: I feel poetic and that is something I do not ignore. Why you ask? Me, being poetic is a rare case unless I'm inspired into making one which hardly happens. I want to sum up the feelings that I have right now which is a complete contradictory to what I am actually feeling.

Anyhow, I want to share this piece of mine. You may relate to it or you may not. It all depends in your head and in your heart. So, here's a piece of my heart this is entitled "Void"

......

VOID

I often wondered why I feel empty inside.
As I sit here doing nothing but sigh.
My mind goes forth from here and there.
Looking at the four corners of the room with a blank stare.

Outside my window the world looks gray.
And here I am getting sadder everyday.
The skies are dull.
The clouds are never a lull.

As if the sky heard my silent plea.
Rain starts to pour heavily and stopping is no guarantee.
Soon, the crowded streets went empty.
It was as if they were never been there just like an imagery.

I lean on the wall and looked up the ceiling.
In my head lots of questions were spinning.
Like if my existence has a meaning or
Would someone even miss me if I was gone missing.

I continue to look at gray the sky.
In the meantime, my heart continues to crack and cry.
Just like the cold window panel I sat beside.
My mind goes blank ignoring each rules abide.

A small ray of light brings me back to my senses.
As I witness it beyond the horizon's reach.
I ray of hope shines through this glitch.
Letting me know that everything is not going to pitch.

“A silver lining” is what it seems.
I close my eyes and I know that a new chapter finally begins.
With that small light I'm grateful that I can finally see

That not everything in my life is how it seems.

Heads Up!!!

Hey Guys!

I've just decided that I will change the design of my blog and some other small stuff about it. Don't worry though everything that you have read will still be here. It's just that I have a sudden change of heart or interest and lest mind about it. This is just a heads up so don't be sad about it okay?

You can still read them that's for sure. Modifications are quite essential to me for the time being. I have no idea why but that's what I'm about to do--- modifying my blog.

If there are some random things that I can think of.

I'll keep you posted ;)

Kim Soo Hyun: The man who is a Star

Okay, so I have been inspired and been smiling all day. I recieved a lot of different kind of stares ranging from confused, wonder, disbelief and even amusement. It seems as if whatever happens, my mood doesn't and wouldn't change. Bad vibes don't affect me no matter what it does. All because of one person. Yep, it goes down on that rode. Well, technically a person whom I can never reach.

What can I say? He's way over there and I'm way over here. Who am I kidding? He's an actor. A good one on that. He is the man who palyed the character that I swooned over countless of times--Do Min Joon. The hottie, stoic alien from "You who came from the Stars". I know, I know I sound like a crazy fan, but, I'm just trying to appreciate his talent and of course, his looks. Who is he?

His name is Kim Soo Hyun.

A little get to know about this young actor.

Name: Kim Soo Hyun
Born: February 16, 1988
Occupation: Actor, singer, model, dancer

I once first saw him on  a television series entitled "Dream High" (Another popular drama, if you're into music with a touch of love and humor). Honestly speaking, when I first saw the trailer I noticed him immediately because of his innocent and boyish looks. In Dream High, I like the plot of the story about following your dreams and striving hard to be successful.

The second time was when he played the roles of King Lee Hwon in a top rating historical  (sageuk) drama "Moon Embracing the Sun". This drama happens to be my favorite and this also happens to be  the beginning of his popularity. His fame skyrockted, which leads to opening the door for his first debut in the big screen in 2012 in the movie "The Thieves", somewhat like an Ocean's Eleven kind of movie. This was also the first time he get to be partnered to his leading lady in "You who came from the Stars"--Jun Ji-hyun.

If your asking me how good is he. All I can say is: I like it when he cries and I mean it. I really admire and appreciate a man who cries. Not as a sign of weakness but because he was strong enough to face it. He, on the other hand, is so good in his craft making me cry so easily. His acting is way too convincing for his own good. Making you think that he was not acting at all. ( Not that some actors were not convincing enough, I mean there are some but---you get what I mean.)

Much to people's dismay. I don't watch a movie because of how the actors good looks. I watched ot because of the story. Of how touching, funny, romantic and sad it may be (I dig those) the actors happen to be plus on it. (Thank goodness for that)

Anyways, I may be  (or may be not) posting some Korean dramas that I have came across for the past months or years. New or Old.

As for now, let's just stick with Kim Soo Hyun--the man who is truly a star.

You who came from the stars

I'm so inspired today! Way to go me. I'm tickled pink all over. I haven't felt this kind of feeling for quite sometime now. You can call me shallow me I don't really care. I just want this feeling out of my system. You must be wondering what or made me act this way. It's not much of a secret really cause if it were I wouldn't post it here not in a million years.

Anyway, do you watch Korean dramas? I happened to be a huge fan and viewer. I have come across of one particular movie that almost literally blow me away. The story is really really really really really cute, nice, amazing, you name it! Maybe I'm exaggerating way too much I really don't care. I'm just too happy and giddy. What I most like about this drama is the plot of the story and of course, lets not forget the cast. The protagonist are  Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) and Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji- Hyun) the alien and the celebrity respectively. I know right? Alien. But my my my what a handsome alien we have here. I cannot help myself but to swoon all over again and all because of Him! (I'm definitely in love).

This is a sci-fi, romantic comedy and melo drama series. So, expect some tissues (I did). This is worth watching I tell you IF you like Korean dramas then "You who came from the stars"  is just right for you. *winks

"If there's a reason to meet, don't you think it will happen, It's what people on earth call fate."
