......
All through the year we get to celebrate different kinds of occasions and different kinds of holidays. Just  a month ago, we welcome a new year. The year of the water horse, but, what about this month? What do we celebrate?
All through out the globe, aside from Christmas and New Year, most people would definitely anticipate this time of the month. Be it young or old, single or in a relationship, married and even if their status is complicated. We can never forget the month of  February ---the love month.  But, do you ever wonder where was it originated? and why we celebrate Valentines Day?
Let's go down to history as we broaden our knowledge about its origins.
......
As a matter of fact, Valentines was never meant to be a celebration of love and for couples but for an entirely different reason.
Fact: The 14th of February was observed to commemorate its patron saint---Saint Valentines.
Question: Who is Saint Valentines?
There are several stories behind the feast of various Christian named Valentines, this is one of them.  In the past, the Christian church named a lot of early Christian martyrs Valentines or Valentinus. One of the martyred Christian priest was named Valentine of Rome. He was martyred about AD 496 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. The church honored many Valentines on the 14th of February and he is one them
Legend has it that Saint Valentine was a priest in the 3rd or 4th century under the rule of Roman Emperor Claudius II.  According to many, the Emperor was impressed with Valentine and had a discussion with him. He persuaded Saint Valentine to convert himself from Christianity into Roman paganism in order to save his life, but Saint Valentine refused. Instead of him being converted, he tried to convert the emperor into Christianity instead. Thus, leading to his execution. However, it was reported that before he was executed, he performed a miracle by healing his jailer's daughter--Julia.
Another legend says, the night before his execution, an imprisoned Saint Valentine of Rome have written the first "valentine card" that was addressed to his jailer's daughter (Julia) who often visited him during  his confinement. He signed the card "Your Valentine". This said expression was later used in modern Valentine letters.
......
Another thought to ponder, another knowledge was being added. Now we know that we not only celebrate this day for romance, we also celebrate it to honor Saint Valentines cause it weren't for him we wouldn't be able to have another special day to celebrate.
......
Question:What is Valentines Day in modern times?
Answer: Valentines Day: A Day for Romance
As the years progresses, so as the ways on how we celebrate Valentines. No matter how old a tradition may be, new things will still be added and we continue to practice it out of habit.  Valentines is a special day in which couples get to together. Like,  go on an adventure and having a romantic dinner date.
Let us also not forget the tokens that we usually give on this special day such roses, stuffed toys, balloons, chocolates and the infamous valentine card. But, the most precious gift a person can give to his love one is his time. 'Tis the day in which it's just you and him and no one else. A reason why many people grab this opportunity to be with the one they love. True, you get to spend each of your time with them. True, you can express your love anywhere and any time that you want.
But why is this day different from any other day?
Because it is not just you who celebrates this special occasion, but, you celebrate it with the rest of people around the world. Spreading and expressing their love to one another in ways we never see.
Although Valentines is a day intentionally to be celebrated with your significant half and since nothing in this world is constant but change ----so as tradition. Now, we can celebrate it with the people we love: friends, family and all of those other people who are close to our hearts.
I believed that celebrating Valentines is  a day in which you express your love to the people around you in a special way. Be it be for the love of family, friendship, sisterhood, brotherhood etc.. as long as you get to express your love and not a minute late.
Let me express my love to you as I end this with a heartfelt thanks and...
